All you have to do is go to: Cingular's website and enter your email address where it talks about discounts (upper left corner).

When you enter your stanford email address you'll get an email with a new link talking about Cingular Premier. You may also start getting advertising to that email address. (I haven't yet, but I read one complaint) Also, if you sign up for the discount your contract basically gets renewed for 2 years (not in addition, but replaced) or if you are a new customer, you just get a new 2 year contract.

So I would say this is best for people who are either Cingular lifers, or just starting their Cingular accounts. Also, the discount is not just limited to Stanford. You can try other businesses and universities to see if they have any discount.
