The best airline cookie...on sale!

For years, the only thing I looked forward to on Delta flights were the cookies. Biscoff cookies. Mmmmm. Almost made the flight palatable...almost.

Since then I've looked near and far for those cookies. Found that Amazon was selling them. First for $29.00 for about 320 of them. But I thought that I could wait until they went on sale. Never did...they've been climbing ever since. $32.00+ now on Amazon.

But little did I know that Walgreens sells them. A place that I've always assumed to be twice as much as any other place for the same product. Well, in this case, not only does Walgreens sell these cookies for $2.59 for a pack of about 32, but they're on sale til the end of the year at 2 for $4.00 (or $2.50 for one).

Get them! Lotus's Biscoff cookies.

$10/day Alamo weekend rentals are back

Alamo is having the $10/day weekend rental for compact cars (slightly more for bigger cars).

link

Not sure if you need to be QuickSilver, but it's free to sign up there as well/

Some have reported that they can get dates outside the February 8th cutoff.

Also, if you have a Discover card earning rewards, you can redeem $40 Alamo rewards for just $20.

Does California owe you money?

Sometimes if you're owed money by a corporation but they can't find you or something (not sure why), the state of CA inherits the money and holds it for a while.

This site: http://scoweb.sco.ca.gov/UCP/ will tell you if you are owed any money.

By searching for my last name and first initial, I found that the state of CA owed me $0.33! woohoo!

BTW, this can be done in any state. There's a portal here: http://unclaimed.org/

20% off Eastbay Gift Cards

Now through 12/19/2009, you can buy gift cards from Eastbay and apply coupon code: IPEB9HC2 to save 20%.

The great thing about these gift cards is that you can later use them when Eastbay has their 30% off Friends and Family sale which gives you an overall discount of almost 50% off.

To squeeze even more out of this deal, if you are a member of fatwallet.com, you can earn fatcash (6%) by going through them to get to the Eastbay site. And unless they've fixed it, when you redeem your giftcard, you can again go through fatwallet and you'll get another 6% (double dipping!)

Since shoes cost $40-50 even after discount, it's easy to spend $100-200 a shot (especially if you're placing an order for the whole family or with friends), so don't skimp on the gift card amount)

2 free Rapid Rewards credits (Southwest) in exchange for email

If you're a Rapid Rewards member, you can earn two free credits towards a free round trip when you sign up for a couple Rapid Rewards emails at this link .

You'll have to be signed up for 3 months to qualify.

If you're not a Rapid Rewards member, then sign up. However, I've heard from time to time that they have signup bonuses, but I don't know if they are going on now. Anyway, 16 credits (16 one ways) over 2 years gets you a free trip, so if you plan on flying Southwest over the next couple years, go for it.

Et tu Jamba Juice?

I thought I wrote about this before, but I can't find it anywhere.

Anyway, it seems in these tough economic times, big companies are putting the squeeze on the consumer by varying their product sizes and playing with their pricing.

For example, Classico Sauces used to have 26oz jars. Now, they've downsized to 24oz jars, but to hide it, they've made the jars taller (and of course, skinnier). The pricing is the same.

Pringles used to have 5-6oz tubes. They've changed all their tubes to Super Stack, which is about 20% larger/taller...but they've increased their pricing by 50%

And now, we come to Jamba Juice.

I ordered a original size Peach Pleasure on Sunday. When I picked up my order, I knew something was amiss. My hand was telling me that the cup was not the right size. Upon further investigation, I found that the cup was a 22oz cup! After a quick correspondence with Jamba Juice it turns out that indeed, they have joined the size manipulation scheme! The original size has now been downsized from 24oz to 22oz. And the power size has dropped from 32oz to 30oz.

The anal person in me wonders how they can continue calling it the "original" size, since it is no longer the size of an original Jamba Juice offering.

Argh!
